Data Protection Policy

1. Introduction

Anthropocene Fixed Income Institute (AFII) (“we”, “us” and “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information.

This Data Protection Policy applies to all AFII’s “stakeholders”, including donors, consultants, suppliers, website users, and other external network stakeholders (“you” and “your”).

2. Policy

This section of the Data Protection Policy describes how we collect and use personal information about you when you engage with AFII and its work. In this circumstance, AFII upholds the standards required of a controller under data protection laws.

a) The data we hold and why

We hold the names and email addresses of AFII’s stakeholders as well as any other information you may provide to us. We may also process information collected through cookies and similar technologies (such as tracking pixels) when you visit an AFII website and via communications we may send to you electronically.

We may use this personal information to:

• provide information about our services and promote our work;
• provide and improve any AFII website;
• manage our relationship with our stakeholders;
• understand our stakeholders’ marketing preferences;
• send correspondence such as market news and analysis and webinar invitations to stakeholders who have opted in to receive it and have approved AFII holding their email address in our database; and
• respond to your questions.

AFII will only use your information within AFII for the purposes for which it was obtained. AFII will not, under any circumstances, share or sell your personal data with any third party for their own marketing purposes. We do not collect or hold “sensitive personal data” about our stakeholders including all AFII website users, such as health status.

We will process your personal data on the basis of one or more of the following lawful bases (to the extent applicable): (1) where you provide your consent; (2) where required to comply with legal and regulatory obligations; and (3) where we have a legitimate interest to process your personal data, including to operate our services and provide you with relevant communications and marketing.

b) Direct marketing

Stakeholders, who have opted in to direct marketing, can opt out at any time by emailing info@anthropocenefii.org.

c) How long the organisation keeps data

Where you provide your personal information to us, for example in response to a particular campaign, we will only keep this for as long as is reasonably required for the purpose(s) for which it was submitted.

d) Data protection rights

AFII would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every stakeholder is entitled to the following:

• The right to access – You have the right to request from AFII copies of your personal data.
• The right to rectification – You have the right to request that AFII corrects any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request AFII to complete information you believe is incomplete.
• The right to erasure – You have the right to request that AFII erases your personal data, under certain conditions.
• The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that AFII restricts the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
• The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to AFII’s processing of your personal data.
• The right to data portability – You have the right to request that AFII transfers the data that we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected. Where you, as an AFII stakeholder would like to review the data that we hold for you or exercise any of the above rights, please make a request to: info@anthropocenefii.org or send a request in the post to: AFII at Kornhamnstorg 53, 111 27 Stockholm, Sweden or at Warnford Court, 29 Throgmorton St, London EC2N 2AT. We will endeavour to provide the information within one month.

e) Who AFII discloses data to, and international data transfers

AFII does not transfer any personal data to any third countries or international organisations outside the UK and the European Economic Area (“EEA”). If it is necessary to transfer your personal information outside the UK or EEA, this shall be done in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“EU GDPR”) and EU GDPR as onshored into UK legislation as part of the UK’s exit from the European Union (“UK GDPR”, and together with EU GDPR, “GDPR”), for example on the basis of an adequacy decision under Article 45 of UK GDPR or EU GDPR, as applicable.

AFII currently only discloses stakeholders’ data within the organisation and to any marketing platform provider which we require to be compliant with GDPR.

The only other circumstances where AFII will share your data with third parties, is in order to comply with legal requests where disclosure is required or permitted by law (for example to government bodies for tax purposes or law enforcement agencies for the prevention and detection of crime, subject to such bodies providing AFII with a relevant request in writing).

f) Complaints

If you are not satisfied with the manner in which we process your personal information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
